- Instructor: Ellen Sachtschale
- Bio: Ellen Sachtschale discovered her passion for clay at the age of fourteen in a high school ceramics class. Initially drawn to the potter's wheel, she spent the first decade of her clay journey focused on wheel-thrown pottery. However, she later found a new avenue for creativity through hand building. This shift opened a new world of creative possibilities, allowing her to craft larger, asymmetrical, and highly textured works. Since 1999, Ellen has been sharing her expertise as a teacher at the Center for Community Arts, where she continues to find joy and excitement in her work. Her aim is to help each student relax and embrace patience as they navigate their own artistic growth through the medium of clay.
