Description

Discover the possibilities of low fire ceramics as you shape, form, and bring your creative ideas to life. In this class, students will learn foundational handbuilding techniques and essential ceramic terminology while exploring how to create a variety of hand formed, low fire pieces. Please note that low fire ceramics are not food safe, making this class ideal for decorative or sculptural work. Guided demonstrations introduce specific skills that participants can incorporate into their own projects, from functional-style forms to artistic designs. This course supports both structured skill development and open-ended creative exploration, allowing students to build confidence, experiment with form and surface, and develop a personal artistic style within the low fire process. Students may purchase clay online during registration. Stoneware B-Mix is recommended for this class - 2 bag limit. Class includes glazes and firings. Students must purchase their own tools. This class does not qualify for open studio at the Civic Park Ceramics Studio.
