Stephanie Andrews Velasquez joins Walnut Creek Intermediate after serving as Assistant Principal at South San Francisco High School since 2021. She earned her B.A. in History Education from CSU Chico, followed by an M.A. in Education and teaching credential from UC Santa Cruz. Prior to becoming an administrator, she spent more than ten years teaching middle school Social Studies and English Language Arts before earning an M.A. in Educational Leadership through UC Berkeley's Principal Leadership Institute. Ms. Andrews believes middle school is a unique and important time in students' lives, when they are discovering their strengths, developing their confidence, and finding their voice.
Ms. Andrews grew up in Dublin and recently returned to the East Bay with her husband and their two young children after many years living in San Francisco. Outside of school, she enjoys dancing and has been involved with a Brazilian drum and dance group for many years. She is excited to be part of the Walnut Creek community and looks forward to partnering with students, families, and staff.
