Starting from Sutherland Drive, the Indian Creek Loop winds through the rolling hills and oak woodlands of Shell Ridge Open Space before returning along scenic ridgelines with expansive valley views. In spring, the trail is especially popular for its colorful display of wildflowers, including California poppies.
This 1.5-mile loop is a great choice for hikers looking for a shorter adventure, with 209 feet of elevation gain and a mix of gentle terrain and a few steeper sections. Parking is limited at the Sutherland Drive trailhead, but additional access is available from the Marshall Drive entrance.
