Starting from Sousa Drive, this trail climbs into Acalanes Ridge Open Space, passing rolling grasslands and oak woodlands before reaching a scenic ridgeline with panoramic views of Walnut Creek, Lafayette, and Mount Diablo on clear days.
This 1.8-mile loop is a great choice for a moderate hike, with 462 feet of elevation gain and a rewarding viewpoint at the highest point of the route. Street parking is available near the trailhead—please be respectful of the surrounding neighborhood when visiting.
