
Starting from the Ygnacio Valley Road trailhead, this scenic loop follows the Blue Oak, Ohlone, and Buckeye trails through the rolling hills of Lime Ridge Open Space. Along the way you'll hike across open grasslands, native chaparral, and groves of blue oaks and buckeyes while enjoying panoramic views of Walnut Creek, Mount Diablo, and the surrounding East Bay hills.
This 3.5-mile loop features 613 feet of elevation gain, making it a rewarding moderate hike with a mix of steady climbs and scenic ridgelines. The route combines three of Lime Ridge's signature trails into a peaceful outing that showcases the preserve's diverse landscapes and seasonal beauty.
