Starting from the Ygnacio Valley Road trailhead, this scenic loop follows the Contra Costa, Forgotten, Savana, and Loan Oak trails through the rolling grasslands and native chaparral of Lime Ridge Open Space. Along the way you'll enjoy sweeping views of Walnut Creek, the Diablo Foothills, and the surrounding East Bay hills while exploring some of the preserve's quieter backcountry trails.
This 4-mile loop features 436 feet of elevation gain, making it a great option for hikers looking for a moderate outing with gentle climbs and expansive scenery. The route connects several lesser-traveled trails into a peaceful loop that showcases Lime Ridge's open landscapes and seasonal wildflowers.
