Description

Starting from Lime Ridge Open Space, this challenging loop winds through rolling grasslands, oak-studded hills, and scenic ridgelines in the southern section of the preserve. The route rewards steady climbing with sweeping views across Walnut Creek, Concord, and the surrounding East Bay hills.

This 5.8-mile loop gains 1,036 feet in elevation, making it a rewarding option for hikers looking for a longer workout and some of the best panoramic viewpoints in Lime Ridge. Spring brings vibrant green hillsides and seasonal wildflowers, while the open terrain offers excellent opportunities to spot local wildlife.

Note: Dogs are not permitted on this route because it passes through the Lime Ridge Wildlife Preserve.
